Unknownnoreply@blogger.comBlogger38125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-37996709121957568822013-08-29T18:21:00.000-07:002013-08-29T23:03:55.157-07:00From Lincoln to Obama- Emancipation to World Enslavement and Syrian invasion Abraham Lincoln, "The Great Emancipator". There was no doubt that Lincoln was a thoughtful man, who was often consumed with self doubt. He questioned himself at almost every turn, and reasoned things to their utmost conclusion. The political situation he thrived in was as treacherous as has been seen in global politics.

By many accounts he cared deeply for the plight of those who were bonded servants and slaves proper. He himself having spent time working for little or nothing in slave like conditions. He also journeyed as a young man into the South and saw the conditions and day to day life of slaves and was appalled. His parents no doubt had something to do with his stance, attending an anti-slavery baptist church, though Lincoln himself was more of an agnostic.

He and his government transformed the industrial future of the US. Mobilising the true power of the United States in its effort to win the war against the errant South. This at the time was argued to create conditions very similar to slavery. Men working on railroad builds or canal work were not much better off than slaves in many respects.

The moral outcry could arise here. He freed the slaves but created a new type of slavery.

The interesting point to note here is that without the industrial complex that came about as a result of that civil war (which in terms of the future power and influence of the US, they did need, despite what Axl Rose may think) the United States could not have emerged in the twentieth century as the preeminent global superpower.

We would be without the great cultural benefits that flowed from it. The art, music, idea's and people. These things flowed about the earth, opening the eyes and minds of millions in a good way. So despite the industrial revolution creating a working situations which can be considered "enslavement", the nature of the it was such that people working embraced the cause, because they were paid.

The system needs an overhaul but elements of it work really well. The idea of people contributing to the goals of the state is an important one. Everyone contributing to the greater good.

It is too often that all we hear is the bad that the US does, or the harm that it causes.

Beyond the foreign policy, there is a lot more to the place, and the people who exist in it. It is also like a gigantic living thing, and life sucks the life out of life, often to the point of death. That is the nature of the universe.

Back to the potential for moral outcry in a place like the USA though. The only reason a moral outcry is ever possible is because the people who are crying out morally are members of the very same state that is in the dominating position. They can oppose the situation without fear of any reprisal.

They owe to the cause of their moral outrage the very ability to engage such morality.

Lincoln was crucial in that he created the opportunity for the United States to continue to emerge as a unified group of political entities. The secession could well have been the end of the United States as we know it. An extremely important factor was of course the reasoning of the two conflicting sides. They both saw the enemy as friends and fellow citizens that needed to be brought into line.

This made the reformation that took place inevitable.

Lincolns government laid the framework for the industrial complex, enabling Yankee industry to take off and drive the United States to the four corners of the globe.

Obama sits in the seat of responsibility, that is disguised as the seat of power. Lincoln was in a similar political set up, though his words and actions had far more effect than Obama does in terms of his personal politics. Obama seems to have found that he has had to put aside a lot of what he himself believes as right, in order to cater to the needs of the United States.

Obama of course almost the ultimate symbol of emancipation. The black president.

How bewildering that he should be in control of the nation that enslaves the earth? The tendrils of the military industrial corporate complex covering the planet.

One thinks Lincoln himself would have been absolutely mortified. Modern day slavery, lifelong toil so others live in gilded comfort? He was however, an industrious man by nature and worked his way from being a mere yard boy to one of the most powerful offices on the planet. He saw the value of hard work and the potential that existed in the individual.

Lincoln set the scene for the acceleration. It is truly astounding, the speed of technological development around us, and the manner at which it sped up in the mid 1800's.

It is remarkable to think of the manner in which Lincoln is responsible for the current global situation. The United States owes its position to men like him.

They were certainly different animals though, more able to express their opinion. Rather than being cowed and guided by PR teams and economic factors. One of the most endearing things about a historic political figure like Lincoln was that he worried himself into premature aging while in the presidency.

He never thought he knew exactly what to do and tortured himself with analysis of what to do in certain situations. He took the guilt of the nation in terms of the deaths of Union soldiers. He seemed to care far more.

Then again, what does the world know of Obama's internal struggle? The mind boggles at what the man must have to deal with alone in his head.

The current Syria situation is an excellent opportunity to flex US muscle again in a military sense and to gain a strategic location that will prove very useful. The neo-con objectives are slowly completed. Remarkably, with a Democrat in the White house!

Russia have backed down slightly and the bullish US seems to be about to get their way. Such is the nature of empires. In many ways, you can only watch as these things happen. You certainly do not have to agree with them though.

The UN continues to be merely a decoration on the shoulder of the United States as a gigantic soldier, shooting first and writing contracts later.

Whereas the UN should be the worlds most powerful political entity. Capable of shutting down any individual countries aims or ambitions in terms of conquest and empire strengthening.

Until the UN becomes more powerful, we have to wait and watch as certain powerful national entities do as they please.

The tyranny, banality and hopelessness of modern life has ostracized certain individuals to the point where they see their only alternative is to engage in destructive acts of terror or to hurt or destroy others in their quest for revenge. This obviously indicates that the system is at fault. People say that terrorists are wrong and evil and so on, but it is in many, if not all cases, the system that has in some way driven them to a level of desperation that is unfathomable for some people on the planet, particularly those in the plentiful and wealthy west. Even in the west though, people are not happy and the world is not capable of making them happy. Hopelessness grows and develops into hatred and certain individuals within the land of plenty also become disenfranchised and become so deranged that that see everyone else as guilty.

This is where a major problem lies. Because normal people participate in the system, for whatever reason, be it to provide for their family, or just have a life where they can live in moderate comfort, they are seen as part of the system that pushes down its control on these individuals who have this hatred for the modern world. So they can then actively excuse themselves for harming innocents, because they see everyone as guilty. This can only lead to destruction and acts of terror, that in turn lead to greater levels of state control and a type of techno fascist regime that has to this point only been imagined. The possible salvation lies in the fact that with greater control comes the possibility of a greater level of input into education and enlightenment possibilities.

It does sound rather chilling in one way, but the greater possibilities of a system of total technological control would in the end lead to a type of utopia. Providing of course that certain levels of excellence in all fields of human endeavor were still pursued. I really think that the pain will precede the pleasure in terms of the future of the human race, in that there will be a period where the state has to enact certain desperate measures in order to regain control over greater numbers of disaffected citizens than it has ever had to deal with. Once destructive and antisocial ideas can be isolated, it will be possible to then begin to truly create a productive and positive future, one not so focused on the ridiculous delusions that the current society is obsessed with i.e. everything that is rammed down our throats on a daily basis by the media.

We still exist in a sort of potentiality vacuum according to the infinite possibility of a human being. Taught to value things that mean nothing at all and to devote our entire lives to things that are mere illusions. This illusory life and thought life creates the cynicism and destructive nature that is leading the planet on its merry dance toward the doom of the entire ecosystem and life as we know it. Most of the things we base our entire existence and everyday lives around, are not real.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-10042707989010235262013-01-25T04:57:00.000-08:002013-01-25T04:57:29.216-08:00Thin insecurities interwoven throughout my mindPlagued by knowledge, I have tried to think of ways, that I could find an answer to my minds many questions. Questions that whisper incessant doubt of my own attempts at understanding anything.

For if knowledge is a quest that brings eventual illumination, how is it that ignorance can be such bliss and understanding and realization of things can bring such pounding doubt? Knowledge comes with the price, that as you learn more, you realize you know far less. It is no surprise to me that many of the greatest minds that have gone before us, seem to have subsided into stricken and maddening frustration. It seems often far more fulfilling to merely write things that make people wince or smile, than things that actually make people think.

I have often found myself driven by the desire to show people how clever I can be, when this is really just foolhardy, in that it means so little that I should not have even bothered in the first place. I need a whisky. Need? Want. Will it steel my resolve so that I may continue to try and make words appear to make sense on this page?

Plagued by the plague were the citizens of London, when in a moment of ill-luck, a bakery caught fire and cathartic flames swept away the terror of death and sickness that threatened that city. Was it good that the bakery went up in smoke, scorching the city and its inhabitants to a more ruder health? Why yes, we are told, as London went on to become briefly, the centre of a global empire.

Its knowledge swept to all corners of the earth, taking with it the rasping intellectualism of a nation and a people in awe of themselves, a vanity which has strode on through the ages. It is now easy to look upon the failed empire of the British and scold it for its misguided deeds and morbid incompetence. Though in the new age that followed, what have we in terms of empire? The insecure bully that is the United States? Its flailing attempts to be king. Though of course, its self doubt and fear are in the end the undoing of it.

The cultural hold its corporately deranged media the only thing it really has left after the terror of its fantastic weaponry. A rather tenuous cultural hold that is scorned and applauded in equal measure. The longer this empire strains to hold its position of dominance, the easier it becomes to forget any positive aspect of its heritage. Depravity and violence become art form.

Art that is consumed with hatred of its subject, and despair at its incompetence. I sometimes think we so far from understanding ourselves that instead we look upon that which we do with contempt, breeding fear of how we are viewed by others. We are taught to envy these days, as though it is a good thing to do, so that we may strive harder and longer to better our contemporaries.

I spoke earlier today to an acquaintance, telling him of a dream I once had. I stood on a small plain overhung with great sheer and jagged green cliffs. The sea to one side and the face of the cliffs to the other. I looked out toward the mouth of a great river. A large plane was hurtling toward the bank of the river, and it smashed with devastating force into the ground on the shores of the rivers mouth. Flame and smoke billowed from the wreckage and people spilled out into view, running in terror as the plane slowly transformed into what looked like a huge wrecked ocean liner. I gazed upon this for a moment before becoming aware of an angelic being flying down from the sky above me with a fiery ball in its hands. It alighted in front of me and wordlessly handed the ball to me, and it did not burn, and I held it.

I suddenly realized that I could use the fire-ball to fly, and it was magnificent, I flew around the landscape, across the cliffs and over the wreckage of the plane/ocean liner. I do not remember what it was that drew me out of that dream, as it was around ten years ago that I had it. In a rickety old house in Thorndon, in the city of Wellington, my second home in New Zealand. Probably an alarm clock radio. With its musical interruption of rest.

I have no clue what that dream represented. And have not really thought long and hard on it. I did enjoy it immensely, and the flight was lovely, as I had complete control over it, something I have not experienced in many other dreams. Save one I had only three nights ago.

This dream involved a high powered speed boat and me the driver, in total control speeding around what at times appeared to be the South Coast of Wellington and then at times seemed to be like the Mediterranean coast of Greece. It was rather disturbing how fast the boat would go and the amount of rocky dangers that appeared in the water ahead of me, though I managed to negotiate all hazards without damaging myself or the vessel and then found myself at the doorstep of an old friends house. I stepped from the boat and onto the porch of his house and went inside and spoke with him and his house mates. We sat down and enjoyed some delicious cake that his mother had baked. And then I awoke. That dream reminded me of the angel dream. All quite odd and inspirational, as well as entertaining and beguiling.

I hope this finds you in good health if you have read to here. And if you have not, may your big toe throb like never before and your left ear ring for a full five minutes.
Beatifically boisterously bellowing down the road, a loud, deep sound, from the lungs all around,

The backdrop the hum and beep of traffic, belting across ground, pedestrian churlishness witnessed aplenty, it seems at times, their heads are empty,

A limerick, no, I would not propose such, just a verse along a watery line, the time today, we journeyed to the brine,

A few friends met, then the salty plunge, the water deep, though around you it quivers, refreshing coolness beneath the waves,

Far from the pastimes that have our days, perhaps not though, if you were employed, by the ocean, Neptune's servant with great devotion,

A lovely drive to the edge of the Tasman, and a splendid frolic in the vicinity of the water, sun drenched and reflective. Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-44426903914665008672012-12-24T05:31:00.003-08:002012-12-24T05:31:29.548-08:00Short story- A strange invitation-part oneThe breeze whipped in now, with a ferocity that changed its definition. Suddenly, a gale, turning the air around their heads in a frenzy of atoms. They ran on, the long grass whipping to and fro in front of them like weed on the ocean floor. The hill was long, but the climb was not steep, they battled forward in the breeze now gale, and squinted ahead, straining tired eyes to see their goal.

Suddenly a bolt of grey from the right, and someone goes down beside her, tumbling back down from whence they came, she sees a blur racing toward her, recognising it as an attack dog, she calmly shoulder tosses it away as it leaps at her. The others brandish their weapons and step on into the wind heartily. There is no time now to stop and deal with these animals.

The moon appears in a split second, illuminating the hillside. The grey walls of the castle with the scratches of hundreds of years, seemed to do a tiny dance under the light of Hine-nui-te-pō, shadows and light flickering across them.

They grew closer to the facility, the dull electric light that surrounded it giving it away through the trees. They entered the denser trees with no sound, the knowledge of Tane's kingdom ingrained in their tender footfalls. The wind hummed overhead, whipping the tops of the trees, but they were completely sheltered now, in the protective coat of the small forest that surrounded the institution.

The air seemed to grow cold, there was some devilry afoot, an unearthly chill stole through the air. The slow rasping of it's voice so low, you could barely hear it, as the air temperature dropped around you. There was a great Tohunga who worked at the facility, and his acquaintance with experimental weapons technology was well known. The area was no doubt equipped with a few weather re-organisation towers. They pressed on, the cold now making their breath mist in front of them.

The castle walls are huge in front of them, there seems no way in. They scuttle around the sides, under the trees, trying not to trigger the surveillance tech positioned all over the walls above them. Their new scrambler suits were obviously doing the trick, as they seem not to have alerted anyone at present.

They knew from reconnaissance that they needed to go over the walls, into the building below, and were equipped for such a need. The grappling hook firing out from the handheld contraption her brother had given her. She hooked the cable to her belt and climbed slowly up the wall, invisible thanks to her suit to any electronic eyes, which were all this facility relied on, on the outside. The others followed, seven of them now, lucky eight having his leg broken by the attack dog.

She reached the top, scrambling onto the tiles of the roof, the crisp Taranaki air whipping about her head again, in its taunting manner. The birdsong below in the trees, wafted across the breeze. She smiled to herself and thought, this is living.

Looking below into the facility brought several new problems placed pertinently before them. Two guards, a computerized machine gun post, and what looked like a small helicopter.

They crouched low below the crest of the roof, hatching a plan for the taking of the area below. The wind breathed its dynamism over them as they put together their plan, its stern insistence making her feel steadier at the fearsome height of these weather beaten walls.

To be continued. (Sometime in the near future.)
A collection of growths attached to each other forming some sort of organic mass of life and capability. Capability. The idea of capability as it exists in the human mindset. We are influenced and cajoled into the idea that we must influence and cajole. Or else we become worthless, or cast aside. Ask not the beggar in the street for advice, for what advice could they possibly give? Plenty you may find.

We must look so odd to elemental beings, breathing and wobbling about the place. Worrying and fretting about things that essentially mean nothing, but everything, at the same time. I want to write something meaningful, but I also just want to write, and to be read. The ego drives me onward toward my own mental demise. I woulhd realli liek to justh write a hole rafte of thingse that ar spellte wronge. It does my head in sometimes to be manicured by the perceptions of long dead people on how I should prepare words to be read.

It is something I have thought long and hard of recently, the human obsession with the dead knowledge, knowledge that clutters our thought life and makes up the basis of our knowledge, most of it is dead, in that it is not dynamic. Why is it so? That we are so unprepared to make our own way forward? And instead rely on long dead men and women to guide us? What is this fascination with the knowledge of people who have no perception or idea with the reality that confronts us in our day to day lives?

I say, burn the books! Start afresh. Leave behind the tinder dry idea's of yesteryear. Let us stride forward anew. Let us tear asunder the false promise of knowledge that pretends to know what we should do. Knowledge garnered from experiences so alien to our own. Are not the books that litter our libraries in a large part merely pieces of information that can be read from, and then discarded, once we have taken that which we like from them? Why ever keep a book for longer than need be. Maybe I speak from the perspective of someone who easily stores up large swathes of information in my head. Excuse me. (There is of course no reason to burn the books, I merely referred to the idea of incineration as a means to make the point that we need take what we need from past musings and then move on).

Infuriatingly, we do rely far to much on the knowledge and idea's of long dead individuals. Take the bible for instance, that often persecuted font of idea's. It was written by a collection of misguided desert dwelling fellows who lived in a world so far removed from ours that they condemned shellfish as unclean, while unbeknownst to them, shellfish are not only delicious, but also extremely nutritious.

The Abrahamic religions and their 'guidance's' are a blight on modern thought and the collective evolution of human understanding. Can we not dispense with such tired and unenlightened fodder? Please? Pretty please? And add to that, perhaps the, though at times enlightened, sometimes rather dead-ended coke-fueled ramblings of a certain Friedrich Nietzsche? And maybe the rather inconclusive and in terms of history, hastily arrived at conclusions of Charles Darwin?

Goodness we have dug ourselves a deep mental pit to climb out of. It is morbidly disturbing how far we have dug. So far we have gone into this pit that we may liken ourselves to carthorses with blinders on. Blinders of knowledge long dead in its worth. Knowledge that leaves us unable to think fresh and new thought. Unable to create. Creativity is looked upon as kooky and eccentric. Is that not odd to you?

Do you not find that slightly disturbing? That if you should believe that the world is held back by the dead and rotting idea's of several centuries you could be placed outside of the spectrum of import? It disturbs me greatly that if I decide to dispense with certain volumes of banality due to their encompassing large amounts of bollocks with small amounts of truth, that I should be frowned upon?

Take for instance the overly esteemed writings of the English naturalist Charles Darwin. His theories contributed to the mass killing of Aboriginal Australians as they were considered a 'lesser' form of humanity. And his works are still considered gospel in universities today. This is madness bordering on stupidity. Of course, the mans research is noteworthy, considering he did make discoveries and formulate idea's that are important in terms of the constant human desire to discover what exactly it is we are doing here on this rock hurtling through the never. However, his world was so far from our own, that we should have learned to take many of the things he says as belonging to an age that has long passed, and thankfully will not be seen again?

The same can be said of so much of the dated and deadened conceptual boredom that is foisted upon us as necessary in this day and age. Idea's of 'nationhood'. How silly are these? Knowing now that we most likely descend from a common group of ancestors, should we not realize that thinking we are different is not only wrong, but also stupid?

We are so stuck in the past, it is suffocating. It chokes me to the point of madness at times. The ridiculous religious books for one, but also the silly scientific texts that masquerade as 'enlightened' pieces of knowledge. When they were penned by people who have no conception whatsoever of our day to day reality. Is it not time we began to take more notice of this? More measured and understanding views on that which we should take as 'knowledge' and that which should be dispensed with? The great hulk of dead and rotten thought that hangs over humanity infects more and more minds on a daily basis. Something must be done about this, you and I need to let the world know that we need to formulate new and dynamic ideas, so that they may in time be dispensed with themselves. Human knowledge is essentially dynamic. In that it is ever-changing. It is not constant. It is something that evolves. We must consider this at every moment, or else we are lost. Leave behind the tired idea's of yesterday, yes, only a few hours ago, and embrace the dawn of new thought.

Let us create thought and then dispense with it, so that those that come after us may do so at a faster rate. Let us move forward, let us enliven the mind with a new creativity, that of constant evolution of idea's. It is our duty as thinking beings, and as pieces of stars that have blazed throughout galaxies for billions of years. We are on the cusp of a moment so illuminating that we will never understand it from our deadened and weakened perspectives. Let us see in the new day, and laugh as it is dispensed with. All old knowledge is dead, new thought is the way forward. Embrace the dawn, look to the future. We must turn our backs on much that we consider truth, in order to truly free our descendants from the bondage that cripples our intellect.

Realize, conspire, evaluate and dream. We are the future in every waking moment, carpe diem, as the old saying goes, use such an old saying to realize what it truly meant. Not that we should look upon history for the answers, but that history should give us an example of what not to do. Turn your mind to the stars, to the swirling space dust that flies through the never. I challenge you to challenge those who speak of the dead knowledge of the past as supremely relevant to modern human existence.

We are in flux, we flow through time, time flows around our being as we flow with it, how can our knowledge be anchored while that which is our reality flows? It is nonsense to consider our reality as still, it is ever moving, ever changing and will go on, with us or without us, ours is the choice, do we join the movement, or sit with our decomposing databases, hoping for answers that have not arrived? Seize your new thought, and conspire upon it, in order to free those minds that follow us, to dream new dreams, and new understandings.

Like I know the answers or something, or have some sort of idea. I thought briefly on this and realized it is probably something that makes people tired of reading what I write, because all they really want to read is some witty turn of phrase, some quick quirk of the mind relayed onto the screen for them to chuckle at for a moment.

I struggle on a day to day basis with what I 'should' write.

I know that I can write with more skill than most people, but it doesn't really help at all when you have no idea where to focus your attention. The possible subjects are numerous.

From historical fiction, which I did a large amount of research for two years ago, to a tale of my manic depressive madness and incarceration. Also I have thought about possibly turning my attention to writing non-fiction of a style that could possibly shake up the people of Aotearoa who I share native ancestry with, or even just writing non-fiction to shake up everyone in some way.

The difficult thing is deciding what it is to focus wholly upon, and then doing it.

Cutting the brain away from the body and releasing it into the tips of your fingers, relaying the feelings that you have felt and idea's that you have had onto the keyboard and meshing them together in some sort of net. A net that captures a persons attention for a time without ensnaring them for too long, so as they do not get weighed down by it.

For what use is writing that does not either entertain or inform in some way? Writing that says or provokes nothing is generally banal instruction, easily dispensed with, often hurriedly.

Thinking back to the rather tumultuous time that was my foray into the world of the mental health system and I can see there was much that would entertain people, with a few chuckles, as well as some things that would no doubt disturb. I remember enjoying a delusion that I was descended from the Pharaoh God's. A quite powerful delusion in fact, relating to the sun in many ways, the sun being something I was rather fixated on during times of psychosis, the thing about the delusion was, in my mind of minds, I knew very well it was a delusion, I just enjoyed the game, and the reaction my apparent belief in it caused in the people around me.

The energy and feeling of power a psychotic episode gives you would absolutely amaze some people, it is truly quite wonderful in many ways. Like the best drugs or sex you have had times a thousand, at times. So very hard to explain to people while you are in it and infinitely harder afterward, as it is impossible to take your mind back into it.

Of course, away from the delusions, there is also the clarity. The delusions and the clarity are two very distinctly different things. The clarity is in many ways the thing that pulled me oftentimes from the delusions.
It is a very difficult thing to explain to people that in many ways, you are in complete control of your mind in a 'psychosis', only seeing reality with unfettered perceptions.

The clarity is what also often causes you to fall back into delusion, as the sheer horror of human reality is too much too bear. It is truly maddening. When the veneer of civility is stripped from your eyes and you see things as they are. Sometimes of course you see things that ease your mind, the love of a friendship, or the care of a parent.
Though also in these moments you can see things that are really rather disturbing, the slight look of desperation in one friends face, the quick shade of anger that flits across the face of a mother. These things pale in comparison to the terror of the system though. Its mechanical maelstrom is a truly mesmerizing mindfuck.

I can recall quite clearly walking through Wellington in a state of heightened awareness, on a week day, the city bustling about me in its quaint earnestness. Quaint of course because Wellington is like the little engine that could, a 'big' city that is not that big, though of course it does make fairly bold movements at times.

I walked through with a slow jaunt, completely aware of my surroundings, and I could actually see the system at work, the traffic lights changing in their flickering computerized roundabout system, the pedestrian shuffle, slow sloping walks, to high speed sidestepping maneuvers, the beeps, grunts of bus and truck brakes, the cacophonous sounds of the city's song. The bank inhaling cash, in the form of people and their dreams, sucking in bright faces and spitting out defeated visage's.

The fake smiles, the uncaring greetings, the shallow laughter. These things can drive you into the darker parts of the human psyche quite quickly. You can see easily that humanity has very much lost control, as it is quite plain that there are very few people who are actually happy among those who inhabit the city as it works, though they be its very lifeblood, there is a dead quality to them as they flow in its paved and carpeted veins.

This of course is probably one of the most maddening things of all in many ways. You see the pain and suffering in the people as they move, the sorrow. And yet there is nothing to be done, the apathy is set. Empathy has gone. Anger has taken its place. Vengeance must be taken, on those who cause you pain, those people above you, around you, who make your life more difficult. It is a sad rat race.

Its talons lie deep in people though, forcing them about their business. Of course there are many who in many moments enjoy the day to day reality of it, I my self being one, the vigor of work does stir you in many ways toward a type of happiness, though in many ways it is a happiness that is fleeting. The urge to anesthetize comes on strong at the end of the working week, regardless of the profession in most cases.

For me, on many occasions, safely ensconced in the psychiatric ward, looking out at the city and the meanderings and goings on, it was easy to see in certain moments that myself and the people who were with me, were in fact, the sane ones. We had had enough and needed to be shut away, as the system had irked us so severely that we could not trudge along in it.

Is it not odd that people who laugh and dance provoke people to mention madness so easily? And cynicism and sneering behaviour is looked upon as normal?

All we really want is to be loved and to love. To be free. These things have become so difficult in the reality of the system that owns us from birth. The system that is beyond human control. People talk about groups of individuals who control the masses. Secret cabals, shady foundations. To me this is just a strange sort of hope. To me humanity has lost control, we are in the grip of a power that is inhuman, a mechanical monster of our own creation that has enslaved great masses of the worlds population to a creed that is based on greed and power.

People who do not wish to hear such things say that there is happiness in the modern world, though they are quick to brush over the cold hard fact that billions of people fight tooth and nail every day for mere survival.

We live in a beautiful world, as Coldplay so beautifully put to music in one of my favorite tunes. It is a cold hard world as well, with dashes of joy and goodness. May we all try harder to alleviate the suffering of the masses of humanity who live in fear of the calamity tomorrow may bring. May we rediscover our spirit and redefine human existence. It is never too late. Empathy over apathy. Create love and eliminate hate. Peace.
Where humanity will be in one thousand years. Impossible, and foolhardy. I see around me intense fixation on the past. Entire branches of the media devoted to relaying the boring events of the last few hours. Further back though, with these books of 'god', written by men? Haha, someone is having a laugh.

Living the strange lie of realizing what the world is about in many deep and odd ways, it is often hard to find anyone with which to talk about this with. Such a facade in the workplace, the image of the person is given to the work associates and perfected over time according to design.

Humanity is dysfunctional on a level where people are sick of hearing it. They don't care anymore, apathy prevails as people give into brutal biological reckonings of what humanity is, immediately giving people the defense of 'their animal nature' prompting them. May we engage our cognitive powers more willingly in the future, instead of wasting them as we do on television, video games and other such fanciful pastimes. Humanity is stalled, and needs to push through the mayhem and solidify a plan in a more meaningful and all encompassing manner.

The notion of any sort of division according to nationality is something that needs to be left behind. The struggle is and will be those in power and those not, no matter your race or even religion in the end. 'Race' and 'Religion' should and hopefully will, become merely reference topics for a guide to redundant follies.

There is much we have learned. And much we will. I pretend to know something sometimes, but most of the time I have not arrived anywhere in terms of a solid philosophy. It just becomes so severely taxing when you regard the world at a slight angle on occasion. It is often then that you realize you are taking it too easily, the deranged makeup of modern society is terribly inefficient and causes many deaths in the general populace. The distribution of money is completely warped in favour of groups and people who waste it on frivolities and great economic ventures, losing millions on the stock market and having fiendishly over the top extravagant parties while millions starve.

The horror of that is so cliched now though. The image should not be though, that of a small child emaciated and feverish fading away into death because there is no food while western families throw away tonnes of good food a year. Does this not seem odd?

To me, yes,it does, terribly negligent really, as this situation is not new. It could have been cleared up years ago by a more functional United Nations with more power and clearer goals. And essentially, a higher ratio of scientists and artists in these councils also. There is no reason why it is not so when you really get down to brass tacks. Lawyers and economists run the govt? How functionally prepared can you be for skulduggery. The other branches of science and the arts are where balance could finally be achieved in some way that could provide a more reliable reflection of the desires of the greater community. On the back of course of a far better funded education system.

All the world should implement large scale education programs across their countries, it should be a United Nations initiative, 'educate the world'.

Possibilities that may exist.

When the problems of the world overwhelm you, you could think of a nut, or you could just think of the galaxies, and operate on a logic that has the multiverse and what it is at the central focus of humanity. Sure you say, someone can say that, but are they living in the real world?
Well why not?

It is amazing the level of distraction leveled at us now by the media machine. The indoctrination, of war, profit, and power. From sport, to movies, to video games, and all fictional media as well directed at all ages, from your very youth and the rest of your life. 'Culture'.

Of course, one can not be too much of a 'downer', these days, it became 'unfashionable'
a way back, people don't want to talk about the strangeness in terms of insanity of this world we live in. So you have to have a bit of a laugh about it and then think about something else.

What about the Battle of Midway, fought across the horizon. Bit excessive really wasn't it? Madness and death. History and especially the history of the last one hundred years is not meant to be talked about anymore. And it is instead presented in a strange manner through the media.

You struggle on though don't you, never quite fooled, doggedly determined to do something, though sometimes you forget what. I do anyway, there are people that you are attached to and those also you admire. Those people you love.
The function of social groupings, the very fabric of the ideals of human existence, is still not nearly as developed as it should be, the ability to communicate.

Our philosophy dwindles at the pens of many who argue about which human ideological pursuit is the greatest. Somehow things like sport and fighting are always highly prized. Keep em bayin for blood. Competitive violent.

Then of course you remember that it would be a good option to learn even a small bit about astronomy and phiosophy, just for the reason that when you meet with those you love you are able to converse freely on things that stimulate your thought and theirs, learning from each other and teaching. Education so horribly neglected in favour of war.

I did remember this though, as I thought on this, that this is a comfortable world in a comfortable universe.

The earth and its human inhabitants situation is far too complicated through savage nationalism and old world prejudice to be clearly directed en masse. The people ne masse of course controlling the direction. It is almost a fantasy, then again, some form of it could eventuate. In some wonderful far off future where everything is alright.

The one that many no longer believe in.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-31421441078726886052012-07-19T06:40:00.002-07:002012-07-19T06:40:52.866-07:00Wind, Wellington, Aotearoa and the CosmosThoughts buffeting the mind like winds in the trees on Mt Victoria.

Picture in your mind Wellington's wild winding packets of air whirling about across the trees in shapes that can be made out from hundreds of metres away by the naked eye.

The leaves revealing a white grey underside to the light, for the sole reason that the motion of the universe caused them to move.

Thoughts, moving at speed, are much the same and can quickly unravel assembled notion, causing a sudden burst of question, that causes rapid disintegration of logically compiled areas of reason and belief. Like the way the wind bursts across Mt Victoria, scattering natural debris before it, energizing and depleting those things that happen to be in its path. Within the chaotic yet synchronised continuous revolution that is this universe, all such natural movement is reasonably created to a certain degree by patterns in the flow of atoms.

Thoughts of an island home, twin outposts inhabited by sane wanderers, who feel at home everywhere, but still often think of the shores of Aotearoa as a place where true rest can be found. The brazen logic and sanity of NZ is something I often miss, humor so dry that even Aussies occasionally miss it.

The future presents itself every moment, seeming to beckon us to action, whatever it is we consider action to be. There is such a beautiful insanity to the universe on a larger scale, an insanity that exists in our misunderstanding of the universe, and our continued efforts at reasoning as to what it could be.

Back to those winds though, surging through the valleys and oceanic passages that surround the city named for the man who defeated Napoleon. A special city, a truly magical spot, imbued with a lurking presence of chaos in its tremulous underbelly, the people and the fault line.
This magnificent planet, this mind boggling universe, they await us, every time we wake, with questions and answers so numerous we could never take them all on.

Let us dance the dance of beatific wonder, when we can allow ourselves to do so, so that we may again appreciate the magnificent unknown, and the great puzzlement this encourages in us. We must never rest, for we have given ourselves clues into understanding through dogged determination to make sense. There is no harm in continuing to attempt explanation of everything. The future does not hang in a balance, it rests in possibilty, for us to whirl toward, on a planet that travels through space, anchored to nothing, taking humanity on the greatest journey ever witnessed. Enjoy it while you can, and help others when you are able. We have a responsibility to foster the cause of humanity with everything we can.

The wind is a way by which we see the miracle of the universe in motion, its effect is to move us to motion and thought, it causes an emotional response, as well as a pragmatic one, its cause lies in far off galaxies, but then those galaxies are equally as affected by that which occurs around us. Relativity, movement, the flow of the cosmos. See it, realize it, and be it.
Grandiose explanations for lackadaisical happenings.
Embroidered stories, to stop the horror.

What was that I said the other day? Am I crazy? Is everyone I see every day crazy? Acting sane we are. Are we playing the part well enough? Is the reason we admire good actors because they are the best at that which all of humanity do everyday? Yes.

Direction is the really crazy one, the real life directors, away from films, those who direct others in everyday life, for they are after all what gives the 'film director' their title. Ability to direct, or compulsion to direct, to compel others to do. These things denote a type of craziness that goes far beyond that of the average person trying to conceal their real self.It can be quite lovely, everyone, everything, is intriguing. Where would we be without directors? They are brilliant, as are all those people and things that can move you emotionally. We are carbon based life forms after all. Shine on you crazy diamond.
Theatre of imaginings. Totem.

Twisted conundrums, wasted illusory peace. Sweet rest.
That sun/rain feels delightful on my brow, how sweet it is to lie beneath this canopy of galaxies.
Serendipitous meetings encouraged by academic or economic yearnings.

Crouch low when you strike a high strength ultra meshed steel fence rusted at the bottom in the courtyard of the high security wing. I did so once many years ago to escape from a so-called 'high' security psychiatric facility, and the elation that accompanied it was quite exquisite, there was literally no other way out of that particular ward. Most efforts at escape were on visits to the 'open-side' or when I was moved there. Plus whenever I made escapes I was still 'crazy', not quite under the yolk of the psych drugs just yet.

Looking out at the world from in there.

I said to myself 'They are the ones who are crazy'. Lunatics, moon moved, everyone of us, bodies of water, tidal emotions...

Some of the safest moments of my life were in those crazy walls. But also some of the bleakest. Enriching it was.

What we have to do, is create beauty so that we can give some magical thing to the databank of humanity.

The powers that be are relentlessly overwhelming and have put themselves into such a powerful position that we lose hope. There must be a political alternative.

Constructive options are on offer. Enhanced altruistic involvement by the money holders and the state departments. It is a function of the govt. to look after the people. It can be arranged.
I enjoy it, it is a splendid release to pour feeling out onto the page. Tap tap tappity tap. Have been doing it for years. Childhood homework projects in the Bach out the back of 12 Peterhead place Flaxmere, to now.

I cringe at the boredom of modern life when I speak to people I work with at the Sign production factory I work in as a 'Grand laminating and sign production assistant'. It is truly odd how far people can be from the true perspective humanity should have taken up at this point in our history. The mindless distraction, the gossip, the talk about sport, which I engage in (sport talk, not gossip, that is one thing I have always done my utmost to avoid in the workplace), my hypocrisy is fully fledged.

I sound superior there, and it is because I am, by virtue of the insight given to me by my parents and several excellent teachers and friends I have had over the years. Not to mention media personalities. We are barreling along in a mass of stupidity. The brazen ignoramuses who parade themselves before the populace on things such as reality television are one thing. The idiots who produce the things are quite another. Consumed by financial gain.

These fiends who grind peoples bones to make their bread. Giants of industry, stacking away golden eggs. Be something they say, be somebody, do something with your life. But why? And for what? To join the masses in the dance of slavery? As Morrison said, "You're all a bunch of fucken slaves!"

Anger wells up in me at the degradation caused by the 'western' worlds obsession with crap. To the cost of millions the world over who suffer everyday. What will you do about it? What. I often despise myself for my lack of activity, but I do strive to do more. We must all.

Bleat bleat bleat. I remember when I thought the world was a place of promise, and that keeps me vital. We can change things for the better. It is within our grasp still. Even while the fascistification of earth continues. Knowledge and new idea's interspersed with time honoured truth will win the day.

Devour information, It is your duty to do so.

Express yourself through what medium you see fit, that is also your duty.

Let not that which moves you to remain that thing you should have done, everyone is gifted. In more ways than one.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-58189418815576599682012-06-15T06:31:00.000-07:002012-06-15T06:31:09.351-07:00Jocularity PeculiarThis is the happy blog, where everyone chortles away at the hilarity the entire time. The laughter becomes deafening at times and there are strange hoots in the distance, we are robots programmed toward a function, so why not instead make that function laughter. There is much to laugh about. We see it around us at all times. Imagine a future where people actually give a shit again? There is a strange resignation to life in many people I meet. Maybe they see it in me, because I feel it at times.

The general purpose of humanity has been eroded, leaving our philosophy directionless but for an unwise focus on gathering a metal that is kept locked up safe and sound where no one can use it. Economics charges forth, at risk and ruin of every human.
After philosophising of selves to a point where everyone got a bit stuck and then there has been a meandering about in the last few years.

The focus of humanity needs to be regained, education and knowledge for all, for the greater good of all of mankind. So many people just really don't give a shit though in a way. Maybe they once did, or do normally but can't be assed. That is probably me actually, existing away in the maelstrom of modern life, becoming complacent and then active, and so on.

There is no reason not to begin a worldwide campaign for nations to reduce military spending and reinvest this in the education systems, the health systems and so on. The perpetual weaponising that goes on is beyond ridiculous. While other systems falter under a workload that could easily be carried with a quarter of the funds spent on military action. Humanity as a group is guilty of this, well the most powerful anyway. There are still enlightened ones who live with the cosmos still, rolling through beyond the petty travails of modern life, existing, discovering, increasing knowledge. 'Lost tribes', who exist where people would least expect it.

Romanticism really, reality requires our attention.

It demands it, play your part, do your bit, keep the machine chugging along, with its jolly driver chortling at the hilarity of it all again and again.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-4605113723035716462012-06-06T16:00:00.000-07:002012-06-08T04:07:03.753-07:00Insane in the Surgery with Dr. FelixAfter having it on my mind for some time I decided enough was enough, I would cut the damnable infestation out of my head myself, after all I had practiced brain surgery on others. I rigged up the necessary camera equipment and monitors and went to work. Today would be a victory over the gnawing insanity that threatened my very existence as the greatest brain surgeon ever.

It was a good thing my brother walked in when he did, such an excellent offsider, I had just made an incorrect incision with my right hand and my left hand had flown violently into the air, knocking the left camera out the window, I remember thinking that I should watch that vid, before hearing him scream, "Felix, you are not a fucking brain surgeon!" He rushed over and yanked the scalpel out of my hand. He had such a wonderfully strong constitution that the sight of the tissue and blood as well as the dirty high powered bone saw I had used did not cause him to bat an eyelid.

I immediately remembered that in fact I was not a surgeon, and that perhaps I had overreacted at my sub-consciouss again. Still it was a lovely little fantasy, the awards, the dinners and the parties. All in a split second, I had commenced to cutting soon after that second, gripped by a fear that I would lose these things, it caused me to smirk even now, the brilliant trick my own mind had played in me. I had not trusted the blasted thing for years.

My brother had good reason to be at odds with it, after it had fooled me into thinking that me and him were time travelling aliens sent to reconoiter the past of Earth in order to bring information to our superiors six hundred and forty nine years into the future, so that they could try to reverse the alarming situation that had developed on Earth at that time, involving super genetically enhanced humanoids, and the devastation they had wrought on the planet.

Now though, we had a mess to clean up. I spoke finally, after Piripi had cleaned up my head wound with some stitches and gauze.

"Piripi I must apologise, I was in the grip of the most beguiling idea, that I was the greatest brain surgeon on Earth and I had to cut out an invasive disease from my head before it was too late, so that I could save humanity through surgery and education, from the super genetically enhanced humanoids. It was wonderful actually."

"Well Felix I am glad you have seen this reason now, it is after all I who is the doctor, and of course your ongoing idea that I am your brother disturbs me immensely. I am your Psychiatrist, and I am worried about you, good thing I decided to call in unannounced. I cannot believe you have access to such equipment so easily. I suppose you ordered it online did you?"

He had a strange glint in his eye which worried me.

Just then a woman walked in and spoke directly to me. "Doctor, have you completed your procedure for the evening?"

I looked at Piripi, this was certainly an odd development, who was this woman dressed as a nurse? Was she actually a nurse, or was this some strange new procedure Piripi had dreamed up to cure me? It couldn't be, thoughts were flashing through my head now, maybe I was the world's greatest brain surgeon and the disease had gotten too far entrenched. Piripi looked worried.

I spoke calmly to the woman. "It's fine, I will tidy things up, thankyou for coming in though."

She left. I turned to Piripi.

" So, you are my psychiatrist are you Piripi? Was that your nurse? Am I having auditory hallucinations?"

A thought snuck into the side of my diseased brain, Piripi had been turned by the genetically enhanced superhumanoids, and was trying to stop me saving humanity. I started to back away toward the door.

I turned quickly and looked down the hallway, the nurse had taken a seat at the desk down the way. I was suddenly flabbergasted, it looked like a surgical hospital out there, not my house, or a psychiatric unit. Maybe I was a surgeon? This was odd. I turned back to Piripi. It wasn't Piripi, it was the skeleton I kept in my operating theater. I was again pretty sure I was the worlds greatest brain surgeon, blood was seeping from the wound in my head, it trickled down past the inside of my left eye and ran down my nose. I think this infection was too far gone.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-40023712798714804072012-05-25T05:14:00.000-07:002012-06-08T04:15:31.929-07:00Why America bashing is silly and thoughts on the future of mankindYou hear it all the time. 'I hate America, blah blah'. I was guilty of it myself on many occasions in the past, unthinkingly rattling off down some feeble trail of thought. The fact is, the United States has given the world as much, if not more, than what its tyranny, perpetrated by a few within the system, will ever do to the collective people of Earth. It was started as a 'New World' by visionary men, who were attempting to put an end to the tyranny of the old European system.

A system that had made slaves and servants of the bulk of the population to service the aims and the pleasure of the elite. They started it with that notion, but of course, the taint of greed and love of power were quick to rear their heads in some form or another in this new world, and plenty of old world idea's got through. It was however around two hundred years before the system really began to take control of the people in the fascist manner that America was set up against.
In that two hundred year window, and even after it, there has been amazing, art, literature, music and idea's to flow in a torrent from the world's only real large scale 'modern' melting pot. Like it or not, America is the one country on Earth that has such huge groups of co-existing displaced and re-placed groups of people from everywhere.

As we all know anyway, there is no such thing as race. National boundaries are merely projected by power players for the benefit of someone or another and genetic differences are virtually indistinct. We are all human, that much is obvious, and there are no differences that make a difference besides those that are cultural. Many rave on about the injustice of it, the terrible tyranny targeting the weaker nations, America and its evil agenda. When it is far more simple than that. It is not the United States we should be raging against. It is the machine. The corporations, the finance system. As the new French President pointed out recently, before putting through a thirty percent pay-cut for himself and his cabinet, 'the world of finance is my enemy'.

Our enemy is not America, it is a system that works through a strong entity like America. The system grows stronger even as America begins to let itself fade into lazy obesity. But the system moves toward the power base. Which is now in China, the new hub of economic power and military technology. The centre of power. The Chinese culture is remarkable and ancient, almost the opposite of the United States in a way. It is however now the place that will soon feel the eyes of the world boring into it on a far greater level than it has ever experienced in recent history. In this technological age, technology will be adapted by the machine to be used for the control of the masses. This process may in fact speed up because of the need that China will have to control information on a far greater scale. There is a chance now that the acceleration of global collusion of intelligence agencies will finally reach far faster fruition. It is merely logical that this should occur. The beast will roar, and humanity need steel themselves for it. For the shock-wave of this roar will be incredible.

The outcry and the protest that goes on at present against the system will dissolve because of the anarchic nature of it. It is not an organised movement with cohesive direction and philosophy. It is too disjointed and has too many people who profess to lead others. The system on the other hand has direction, means and age old delegated control patterns. Therefore, the only way forward is within the system. Through a continued objective of education, enlightenment and socio-cultural evolution. Which of course is possible. Those who think they can derail the machine by force are dreaming. The only conceivable way to save the future is too try to make things happen through means that are not confrontational and not potentially violent. Through age old methods of teaching, music, art and literature and so on. Through the law, politics, scientific reason, through philosophy, the often maligned practice of thinking about things.

Re-affirmation of the human capacity to do. The amazing complexity of the universe begins in side of every one of us. We are a universe unto ourselves, in that we each dwell in our own universe. Think about that. It is beautiful. The vampire system that tries to drain us is defeat-able through gradual enlightenment. The capacity for this is far from lost. The capacity to teach and be taught. Therefore the logical movement for those who wish to have a tangible impact on the progression of humanity as a whole is through existent political systems. Just as the right wing group 'The National Party' have taken control of the nation of New Zealand. So should a new political movement muster itself for a push at the seat of the demos across earth.

The people need to be motivated like never more to speak. In New Zealand for example those involved in the Green party and its potential collaborative groups need to begin a concerted effort to enrol voters and spread the word about the power of the common New Zealander and the vote they have and the potential strength of that vote. The day is far from lost. The struggle goes on, everyday. We must continue to try to right the wrongs and believe in each others potential, it is the only real way forward, beyond the idiocy of committing crime to protest crime, of attempting to spread fear to fight fear. We have a chance to continue the work of the great visionaries of the past. Those who saw the potential of the human spirit, the true beauty of it, in every child, woman and man.

It is real, we can save ourselves.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-15271083891462483162012-05-16T04:58:00.002-07:002012-06-20T06:01:52.444-07:00Political Jargon. The National party has again been true to form. In typical conservative fashion they have striven to uphold conservative status and standing by tweaking and changing the situation for their benefit ( funnily enough), while they remain in power, while doing their utmost to convince the people of New Zeland that they are trying to sort things out for the good of the entire populace.

When they are cooly going about the business of getting rich. And damn deficits and the people who create them. The logic of the almighty dollar. Never mind that the entirety of a society contributes to the organsim that it is, and that the spectre of debt, has been shown to be be the ghost that it is, with huge debts being wiped around the world in some cases. The role of the politician now is so symbiotic with big business that it is hard to see where one ends and the other starts, too many heads in laps and up asses.

This has become the overwhelmingly clear situation in NZ in the last thirty years, as both Labour and National have thrown their lot in with powerful business entities in a way like never before. There is an uneasy feeling amongst the populace as they realise they have been duped, while some struggle to pretend that they believe they still made the correct decision, while others vociferously declare they are with National, and believe in John Key! Chilling really.

Still there is of course a ray of hope, that common-sense will indeed prevail. Simply because it should do, seeing as most are aware that the best interests of a society at large, are not to purposefully deprive some of its members of resources for the reason they cannot pay their own way, while other members of the same Aotearoa buy their third boat. It is ridiculous and supremely aggravating. There are better political options that exist in the interest of the New Zeland people as a group. There are people and groups of people becoming politically active who will be able to shape the future in a way that is beneficial to all.

We need to ask serious questions of the two elitist and centre right options that exist in Labour and National (I must say though, there are still true left minded individuals in the Labour party, even if the party at large has been hijacked by money grubbing bastards. There is a far greater need to begin concerted strategising and well organised campaigning than ever before in NZ politics, or the charade of differing political agenda's will continue, and eventually sell NZ from underneath us. Break on through to the other side people, we need to let the world know we will not be coerced into further slavery, the time is now...Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-43092498357176887432012-05-10T10:04:00.001-07:002012-05-10T10:04:42.553-07:00Galactic questionsRecently it has dawned on me, like the sun at the end of a moonless night, that I know not nearly enough about the wondrous galaxy we are moving in and the other star systems that inhabit the universe it flys in. It has gradually become apparent to me that I should really make an effort to gain a greater understanding of it, its properties and its apparently eternal movement.
It is disturbing that such a thing as this universe, which possibly holds all the information about the very formation of the situation we as a race find ourselves in, could become so ably ignored. A major problem of course being the common thread that is trotted out by many along the lines of 'we have it all figured out'.
In fact, we certainly do not. We have idea's, idea's based on factual information that has been witnessed after the fact. Carl Sagan himself, in his 'Cosmos', says, 'maybe infinite'. We cannot understand this as mortal beings.
We find ourselves with 'evidence' that something has occurred, and then try to piece this 'evidence' into a picture through calculations based on what we can measure and see. A big problem for science at present is the supposed existence of 'dark matter', that which we cannot measure and see. And yet this is not a big story for the world's media. Or for humanity at large, is that not strange to you at all? Why do we no longer look with incredible wonder to the heavens? Because we have figured it all out?
It is to me absolutely laughable to suggest that we are anywhere close to having it figured out. The research must continue.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-15790864070350992392012-04-11T08:02:00.002-07:002012-04-11T08:09:17.989-07:00The Red TreeA big red tree adorned the lawn of the house, an old man played guitar in its warm shadow. The sun had blazed but sank low, halfway below the horizon, still casting warmth before it, and beautiful soft colour saturated the sky. Ulysses had walked a way from where his car had been parked, and the scene was good, it stirred his imagination, and lit up corners of his memory.

The man looked up as Ulysses strode slowly, but purposefully through the gate. He smiled and added a little riff to the blues standard he played. His lyrics finally lightly dusting Ulysses's ear-drums. He had a voice tinged with many things, and it had a worldly but friendly tone. Ulysses walked the long driveway, the music lending itself beautifully to the dusk that placed itself slowly across Ulysses's view of earth.

The man on the guitar stopped.

"Before you come any closer stranger, praytell, what your first name," he spoke in a low easy voice, "I would take a measure of thee, from the vision I see before me, coupled with the name they parents chose and who I perceive you to be after I have heard you speak."

Ulysses hailed him from the fifteen yards that remained between him and the man.
"My name sir is Ulysses, my parents named me for the Greek hero, but in the Roman tongue. I have walked about ten miles, after my car went to rest further back down your road."

The old man chuckled, "My road? It is no road of mine, just as the red tree that stands above me is not mine either. I am but someone who dwells in the vicinity of these things. The government say they own the road, but they do not. It is something that remains for a time, and in that time many use it, many more than ever pay for it, I was just the ten minutes gone singing an ode to that road."

" I would like to hear that." Ulysses said carefully, a half smile creeping onto his face.

The old man lowered his eyes for a moment and spoke slowly, "Would you now? Would you now?"

"Come over and sit down then, on the log there."

Ulysses walked to the log, it was several years old, but solid enough to have retained itself well against the weathering of time. Mushrooms grew in part of the bark, and an enchanting turquoise flowered vine wrapped it self about the base of the trunk, along what had been its upright side. It looked a comfortable seat, especially after the trek he had endured.

"alright then, the man spoke, I will play you my song."

He shifted his seat slightly, before quickly going about checking if the sound of the guitar was right for what he would try to do. He smiled briefly, before hitting the strings with his fingers and beginning.

The sound was strange, morose but optimistic, with undertones of love and violence, and the odd moment of pure beauty. Ulysses sat rapt, the music flooding his being.

The old man started to sing, a song about another man, who lived on the road many years ago. The music rose and fell, as the story weaved through the chords, setting itself a-flight, airborne on sound-wavws. Ulysses was astonished, he had never expected something so penetratingly magnificent. He was almost aghast, and felt tingling down the base of his spine.

The song carried him into its legend, he became the protagonist, moving through the music. The old man's hands rhythmic and blurred, then still and beating, as the music changed up and down.

The sun sat on the edge of the world, the last light creeping across the plain. As the last strains of the song reverberated in his brain, Ulysses hoped he would be able to lodge in the house that sat off behind the man.

"What do you think?" the old man croaked, voice crackling under the strain of the song it had sung.

"Amazing man, can you tell me your name?"

The old man smiled, the same smile of earlier, though a little more haunting.
"My name? Haha, I am no-one, you are alone in this field."

Ulysses started, there was no one there, no old man, and no guitar, nothing save a large magpie that looked at him with a quick quizzical eye before flying off into the gumtree that sat, now menacingly, above the deserted house. He got up, it was almost dark, and this was a strange road.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-29203125027931230682012-04-10T04:36:00.003-07:002012-04-10T06:27:49.423-07:00Ebb and flowThe ebb seems to ebb for so long on occasion, the empty feeling inside, the nothingness that creeps over oneself. I have observed it from outside myself on more than one occasion.

It is merely the mind betraying itself, pulling away bridges it made for itself earlier, leaving dangerous drops that need to be carefully negoiated. I fell briefly only the weekend gone, into a period of self loathing and fear. My weakness leaves me disgusted at my frailty. I attempted to cover up the advance of it by leaping into a drinking session, in order to numb myself to it.

This merely ended up providing me with a moment where I felt as though I had ostracised myself from my own friends through egocentric stupidity.

It is nice to write about it, having recognised it for what it was, I had failed at this in the distant past, and it caused me no end of trouble. I feel as though again I have bested the beast that rears up over me on occasion. I will continue to do this for the rest of my days, as my self belief remains exceptionally strong, even though at times I know that I have not ably demonstrated to anyone why it is Ibelieve in myself so much.

This is a question we should all ask ourselves, I think. What is it that makes us go on through life? What is it that we think we are going to achieve, that we think we can achieve in this reality?

There is always some reason to hold on for tomorrow isn't there, or else you wouldn't. I trust if you bother to read this then you have some interest in self preservation, as you are merely gathering information in order to glean from it that which you may find useful (you'sful).

Anyway, there is no reason to bang on to long on this is there.

It is the ebb and flow which makes this life so intensely wonderful on occasion, that is something to remember. For with no ebb, there would be no flow, no high and no low. Flow on friends, move through the universe, step through the door, into the self that waits for you somewhere else a lot of the time, the self that knows you, that is locked into the essence of this magical space and time.

I would advise that you take some time this week to sit for a moment and enjoy your own company in silence. It is a peace we forget about these hectic days.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-44100679395390721342012-01-28T03:25:00.000-08:002012-01-28T04:02:57.207-08:00Migration stations, Space awaitsI often wonder why more is not made of the move to the realm of space. Logical progression, all the 'sci-fi' movies and programmes for years have merely been a preview for the future, what will mankind become? Surely if mass deaths are caused by some human phenomenon there will be some who have an opportunity to survive, whether it be beneath the ground or in orbit.

If it is beneath ground then they can occupy themselves with surviving and building potential sustainable space travel vehicles. If it is in orbit, then why just orbit? The generations who follow us will be as the ones who came many years before us, into the unknown they will go, though of course, charting and navigation methods having changed considerably since then so they will have a good idea of what they approach over distances, though of course, will never be quite sure what they are doing for a long time.

We remain unsure of ourselves now, which leads to the situation we have now where powerful people feebly clutch onto that which they have, as they see images of death and destruction across the planet, there hearts hardened by fear. Feebly, cling on to, their fear.

Outwardly pretending they are powerful with items purchased to boost their status, so that others might 'envy' them. I despise envy and I have managed to avoid it as an emotion that I experience over the years, which was of course no easy process, as it still dogs me on occasion. I would urge you to try to do so, as I feel it gives me a happier and more ambitious outlook when I do no engage in it. I will not envy someone who has something, because I always believe that I am capable of reaching some mental plain where it will only matter to be alive and safe. I am sounding like a goddamn hippy again now, peace and love, hahaha.

Back to space and away from megolomania. The human world is weak, consumed with death, we strive to function in it, constantly questioning what we are doing and then for times slotted right in and doing it, because of some goal we think we will achieve. Goals being of course essential in progression, and the goal of space and the further development of humanity and our understanding of our own capacity is the greatest goal of all.

This will come as we engage ourselves completely with the greater universe, travel through it, and learn its magic on a larger scale. Entire civilisations of humans could populate the solar sysem and then the galaxies and so on. If you were negative you would immendiately think, oh no! heaven forbid!

There is no need to give up on humanity yet though, it is possible that reason can be gained. For we never have had it as a planetery group. Reason that is, as unreason has frequently been the fare over millions of years.

What Sir Isaac Newton would have given for access to the information systems and equipment available now. Those at the pinnacle of scientific endeavor of course more appropriately deserve the reverance of the populace, instead of the current worship of artists, be they musicians, be they sportspeople. Though of course, science is essentially an artform, though a far more exacting process is engaged in in many ways.

Still, inspiration is vital for these pursuits, and of course, the artists who currently get the plaudits do of course give something to the population, even if it is a little silly at times, musicians, being particularly guilty of this on occasion.

Rocket ships. My daughter, the other evening at a friends house, walked out with a book in her hands saying it was the special book about space and that told me it was a book about rocket ships and going to the moon, it was an amusing moment. I do tend to prattle on at times. She hears it more than most. Still, I am glad she has a head for it, I think it is the future, and as I said in the opening paragraph, cannot understand why it is not more of an agenda being pursued, if only for the reason that it could well be something that could unite the people of earth into larger groups. Even perhaps a continental triumvirate? This would certainly end the so called 'resourse crisis'.

The media are the fool who bow down to money in the biggest way, feeding us the 'idea' of what life could/should be about. Then again they do gratify us by stirring us to happiness and moments of learning. It is always a two edged sword isn't it. Though of course greater accountability in the media for the education of mankind as a group is a priroity that should take precedence. Rather than the current fashion for 'hits' and 'sales'. Fuck that, idiots. We are spiralling into a mess, but then again, we are not. There is control still for the people over the machine, and we have a chance as to maintain our diginity in the face of a system that threatens to overtake us completely.

Let us take back control and explore the galaxies, as sentient beings, rather than the sorry, sad, tortured beings we sometimes are now, caught up in the dance toward a death that so many fear, suckered into consumerism and media constructs, rather than upgrading your mental plain, and believing in the future of humankind.

Sentient beings we can be, for there are those that have gone before us, there is a certain resonance about the universe, a reverberation, it will coninue with or without 'earth', so it would be good for those who follow us if we make preparation for their progress into a galactic conscioussness.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-35037917540761825712011-12-29T04:31:00.000-08:002011-12-29T05:02:58.238-08:00Self indulgent ego stroking?Straight reckoning it, true thinking, rue thinking, you thinking? I am, not. Arrange your prejudices in a line, before they consume you with guilt, let them lead you to a new thought, if you can bend your mind in such a manner. Or perhaps align your knowledge in order to make a new bridge to an old reason.

I like to think I think things that are new, though I am sure every thought I have has been through another mind on some occasion. Whether it be the lowliest slave in the court of some debauched historical king, to the very mind of the greatest being to ever grace the universe, whatever that mind could be. Let me babble, because I will.

Do you ever think you could be something else? Something special? Or do you condemn such a thought as vanity? Self indulgent ego stroking? It is, it is. Mind you, the ego must be stroked, as it is ego which keeps us going, humility is a beautiful thing, though it is horribly overrated.

I believe I am something quite magical, and I hope you who read this do to, because this universe, and its beautiful mystery is something that is unexplained, and there is a magic in that, and we are very much a part of that magic.

Energy courses through the universe, unexplained energy, masses of it, causation, deprivation, voids, supernovae, black holes.

Never forget the amazing magic of the thing that gives us life, the very god, the very reason for our creation, beyond religion, beyond humankind. Always remember love, that thing which accumulates and spills through us, to people who sometimes feel they are beyond it, love saves them.

I remember many years ago, running through Wellington, bombed out of my gourd on all manner of drugs, feeling the weight of technology on my soul, the torturous pressure of modernity, and then seeing a person who smiled at me, and relief running through my veins, feeling it, coursing through my body. Beautiful moments. So many of them.

Some kid asked me for two bucks today, 'For a feed' he said. I was glad to give it, even if he was just accumulating for a hit. Just so he knew that people have not given up on him, and because I had enough, and I could spare it.

I spent an evening hanging out with friends, from the rafters, like bats, though there are no rafters in this house. We actually just sat around and had a few drinks and a barbeque. It was nice, and easy, the conversation was good, and the time was well spent.

I thought I would write something for the mere sake of hitting the keys, and I think though I have said precisely nothing in the course of this missive, I feel better for saying nothing. The universe is my god, and I believe in love.

I also believe in hatred and evil, things that I have felt, violence that has gripped my being on occasion. Why should they be viewed as bad things though? If we are merely animals? Predatory prehistoric traits handed on by a genetic code. There can be no guilt or misery if evil and hatred are merely the imbedded genetic code that we carry on from our ancestors. Therefore we can kill with impunity and feel no empathy for those who suffer. We can laugh at those who suffer, make jokes about their pain, for we are innocent of their pain, and there is no transgression in their suffering on our part.

So switch the channel to sport, pop the popcorn in the microwave, crack open a beer and sink into the couch, in debauched comfort. We have risen to where we are through sheer evolutionary prowess. Survival of the fittest, laugh at the weak, for they are weak. Lurch on into the new year, with new understanding of your own evolutionary greatness. Ride on into the sunset, mind clear of emotion.

I think I prefer to care. Just because I can. Love can save us.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-26612372854150380422011-11-13T17:11:00.000-08:002011-11-13T17:14:12.947-08:00Break your mental chainsWhat is it that I think I know that no one else does? I am not sure. Billions of people on what is termed a planet, a planet in a solar system in a galaxy in a universe that apparently is stretching, growing or something along those lines. The possibilities seem infinite at this stage.

Alas, due to some reason we have reduced ourselves to finite possibility. We most of the time are told to ‘live in the real world’, which is of course the world of finite possibility. The world where you attend school for a time get a job, accumulate possessions friends and family before dying, hopefully comfortably and with a nice funeral.
In a universe where the possibilities seem infinite, I believe many of us have chosen to believe that which is told to us, that is, many of us have chosen to think of things in quantifiable finites, rather than in the realm of possibility. A rather excellent cliché is ‘The possibilities are endless’, and it is inarguable most of the time. Even within the realm of quantifiable finites.

It seems that if you were to become too concerned with quantifiable finites, you would begin to consider your fellow humans to be quantifiably finite as well. This is a rather disturbing development. Because of course now you can think of people as similar to possessions or quantifiable goods. It is a small leap sideways in the mind, consider the ease with which you are able to do it, thanks to years of indoctrination.
You would, caught up in quantifiable finites, then begin to care less for others and in fact be apathetic in the face of their distress or misfortune. That thing which apparently represents our opinions, the media, of course backs this up. Its programming consisting apparently of what is ‘hip’ or ‘current’, when in fact it is the regurgitation of a governmental control system that has been in place for thousands of years. This much is while not obvious, easily discernable to the eye that wishes to see.

The sideshows of humanity, sport, movies, war.
The things that consume us; all of them representations of superiority and frequently repeatedly glorifying violence and death, the food of the media, that which makes it tick.
In the age of enlightenment, many billions still suffer, without that which would make them able to turn their mind toward the collective human effort to understand the reality of our existence. Many and most are as equal a being as anyone else on the planet is, but this is conveniently forgotten by many now, why should I feel guilt for the plight of those who do not help themselves.

Humanity survives on humanity, without others, you would be nothing, and as nothing, you would disappear. Finite possibility, finite possibility is too be dispensed with at all costs. It is necessary for the good of humanity and the future of it that infinite possibility is returned to its place as one of humanity’s formative notions. Limiting and trying to quantify is unhealthy and unwise and leads inevitably to hardship and death for someone somewhere, however indirect it could be, it still happens because you buy a particular product that someone somewhere goes without and quite possibly suffers, these are the possibilities of quantifiable finite notion.

With a notion that embraces the unlimited possibility of the universe, you could therefore never arrive on a quantifiable finite as a future, other than a guess at when your mortality would cause you to succumb to time and its soft whisper. On the other hand, perhaps fate would have other plans for you, a skiing accident or kicked to death begging in an alley. Either way, you would be unwise to have ceased believing in the possibilities of the future of humankind. The unfathomable possibilities that an ever-expanding universe actually represents to humankind, that which should make us superhuman, though in actuality we have become distracted from it by vanity and self loathing, a wicked combination of the two that makes us ultra competitive, paranoid and destructive, to self and others.

It is not of course all doom and gloom of course, there is certainly much fun and hilarity to be had playing the games of a warped mind, and to be quite truthful they still pique my interest on occasion, which is a good thing. For it is often in these induced states that we discover more about ourselves than we ever do trapped in the mentality of the physical indoctrinated world.
Beyond the realm of finite possibility, when the suffocating gauze of the physical world is rendered less overwhelming and the world sometimes referred to as the ‘spiritual world’ is revealed to us. The world that is ulterior to that which is termed ‘physical’, the world where the mind has its edges dulled and sharpened at strange points, points where possibilities can become endless, and where the future of humanity is often forged.

For where would we be without the dreamers, those who truly believe in endless possibility? In some sort of watered down stoic fascist existence believing the tripe spouted to you by the media and the notions of the ruling elite. Sounds familiar, though of course, we are not that far gone yet, while we still believe in love and the essential good of humanity, we are not lost. While we still harbor ideas of exploring the universe further, we are not lost. While we still feel any moment of sadness for the plight of another, we are not lost. While we still believe in the realm of endless possibility, we could never be lost. The possibility of you is endless, it is we who set quantifiable finites in place for what we can achieve, and it is our duty to the future of humanity to no longer do so.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955672747880974065.post-82381830069066970062011-09-30T17:04:00.000-07:002011-09-30T17:09:58.202-07:00Love flows, through us, away from us, toward us, and always it is with usFlow over the keys toward yourself, if you can, you should be able to, if you are able to tap keys to make a sentence, then you can write, anyone can write, we all should, we should all, write, and bring others into the light of your mind in a particular moment, it is a duty that we have.

Do you not question yourself? Do you not ask yourself what it is you love? Do you not inquire of yourself at certain times, certain moments of quiet in which you are able to glance into the interior, those sweet moments, those peaceful moments, what is it exactly that I love?

What is it?

What is this life? What is this miracle of movement that reveals itself to me in every waking moment I behold?
Although not every moment is beautiful, there are those moments that make others more beautiful. Without these moments, we would be lost, for the times in which we are at a low are brought to bear by highs which are often indescribable. Delights and ecstasies that are able to be remembered and described to a point which conveys something of that which was experienced, but never quite gives the definition of the feeling.

We are alive. We live. We breathe, move, speak, and dance. We must flow in the manner that our atoms enable us to. For it is atomic, we are atomic, our god is an atomic god, whatever that god may be to you. There is no disputing that something is responsible for our response.

That much seems obvious.

Let me speak to you; let me say this, let me be the one to say that I love you. I believe in your innate beauty. I said to a friend when we were teens that I thought every woman on earth had an inherent beauty within her, he looked at me as though I was batty, and perhaps I am, but I believe it still. I believe every person on the planet has an innate beauty, from the most murderous fiendishly despicable to the holiest of holy.

It is the nature that prompts thought, the nurture that propels it, the propagation of genetic heritage and familial traits that underlines the current which it flows along.

Love flows, through us, away from us, toward us, and always it is with us. It is the enduring peace and truth of humanity. The thing that enables us to be at peace with ourselves, in the fleeting peace that we are able to experience in this modern age of mechanics..

It is an amazing life that we have been lucky enough to experience together, as you read this you experience the life that passes in every one of us. We must be more appreciative of the beauty and wonder of it, the marvelous magical nature of it. The splendid isolation, the enchanting company, the magnificent solitude, and the ecstatic gathering. Let us remember each other as we have been at our best and at our worst, and why it is that the worst will never supplant the best, why it is, why is it?

Magic. It is a kind of magic, wise words from a magical man that went before us.

Let it be as it was, let us try to rediscover that magic that we yearn for in that past that seems so unfathomable, that past that we feel we will never see again. It is folly to dispense with the things that make us human, and yet we do so at every turn. The dirt embracing greed that clouds our minds, the fiendish grasp for the ‘things’ we ‘need’, the things we need….

What are they really? Yes, they are those ‘hippy’ things, love, peace, and happiness. In the end, nothing else will suffice. We must give the peace we are able to find at times to every living thing, in a universal moment of understanding, if you can have one, one moment, then that could be enough, in that moment.

We are alone, we are ourselves, therefore, in that solitude, we must find solace. There can be no peace if you are not at peace with yourself, by yourself. It is the purest folly to think anything else.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
